Diversity Business Enterprise Events

Each year, Music City Center hosts several events to support diverse businesses in the local community as part of its Diversity Business Enterprise program. All events are open to the public by reservation unless otherwise noted.

Small & Diverse Business Forum

This forum connects small and diverse-owned businesses to major employers. Held in partnership with Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and First Horizon Bank, the annual event is designed to engage, educate, and empower DBE businesses through lectures and open discussions.

The Small & Diverse Business Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Music City Center. The event will focus on the commercial development industry and feature interactive panel discussions with industry leaders. Registration includes parking, lunch, and networking reception.

Construction Opportunities Conference

This workshop is for small and diverse businesses and engineering firms that want to do business with large prime contractors and government agencies. Held in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Nashville Business Incubation Center, and Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), this event will include open discussions and workshops with industry experts.

The Construction Opportunities Conference was held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Music City Center.

DBE Certification Workshop

This workshop is for small and diverse businesses that need assistance with DBE certification. Held in partnership with the Governor's Office of Diversity Business Enterprise, this event will assist with the certification process and increase knowledge of procurement processes and procedures for the State of Tennessee and Music City Center.

The DBE Certification Workshop was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Participants could attend in-person at Music City Center or virtually. Registration was free to all participants.

Purchasing/DBE Appreciation Breakfast*

This breakfast is a reception for DBE partners currently doing business with Music City Center. It is an opportunity to reflect on the past year and preview the new year. The annual event also includes the announcement of the Music City Center Vendor of Excellence.

The Purchasing/DBE Appreciation Breakfast was held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Music City Center. The Vendor of Excellence award was presented to Industrial Staffing of Tennessee, a local, woman-owned staffing company, offering flexible workforce solutions for warehouse, events, housekeeping, machine operation, sanitation, and other general labor positions.

  • Proposal 101 Workshop: This workshop provides procurement tips and resources from local and federal entities.
  • Food & Beverage Seminar: This seminar offers in-depth information on what it takes to do business wit the Music City Center food and beverage department.
