CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY REPORTS APRIL STRONGEST MONTH YET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Convention Center Authority announced this morning that the Music City Center generated over $100 million in economic impact during the month of April.
The Music City Center hosted 29 events with 160,367 attendees last month. These events generated 58,721 room nights for a total of $107.3 million in economic impact. To date, the MCC has hosted 620 events with 1.1 million in attendance, generating over $550 million in economic impact since opening in May 2013.
"April was the best month we've had since opening the building," said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center. "Not only did NRA have their second-highest attendance ever but we also saw great attendance numbers during American Occupational Therapy Association's Annual Conference and LEGO KidsFest. We could not be more pleased with where we are year-to-date for this fiscal year."
The Convention Center Authority also announced that the Music City Center spent $490,000 or 43.65 percent, during the third quarter with minority, women-owned and small businesses. Fiscal year-to-date, the Music City Center has spent almost $2.7 million, or 48.66 percent, with DBE firms.

The Music City Center, Nashville’s convention center, features a 353,143 square foot exhibit hall, the 57,500 square foot Karl F. Dean Grand Ballroom, and an 18,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The building includes an art collection featuring local and regional artists, a covered three-level parking garage with 1,800 spaces, and is LEED Gold certified. The Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame is also located inside the Music City Center at the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun.
