Diversity Business Enterprise Results Fiscal Year 2019 Announced

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Music City Center announced today that the building generated nearly $100 million in direct economic impact during the months of July and August 2019.
For the month of July, the Music City Center hosted 17 events with 49,528 attendees, generating 22,999 total room nights with a direct economic impact of $49,135,417. For the month of August, the Music City Center hosted 14 events with 35,547 attendees, generating 48,414 total room nights with a direct economic impact of $50,352,659. Fiscal year-to-date 31 events have been hosted with an attendance of 85,075 and a direct economic impact of $99,488,076.
“A hallmark of Music City Center’s growth is in the increase of diverse attendees from around the globe,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of Music City Center. “With nonstop international flights, it has made travel more conducive than ever before for our international guests, who typically explore Nashville beyond downtown.”
For fiscal year 2019, MCC had a 35.51% Diversity Business Enterprise participation, spending $3,292,514 with minority, women-owned and small businesses. Additionally, MCC’s contractors spent a combined $2,017,817 with DBE firms.

About the Music City Center
The Music City Center, Nashville’s convention center, features a 353,143 square foot exhibit hall, the 57,500 square foot Karl F. Dean Grand Ballroom, and an 18,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The building includes an art collection featuring local and regional artists, a covered three-level parking garage with 1,800 spaces, and is LEED Gold certified. The Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame is also located inside the Music City Center at the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun.
